Smocked Insertion Mary De

Smocking a jumper is something everyone must try once, and we think when you do, you will want to make many more. In this Sew Along, Susan sews the version of the Mary De with a smocked insertion. It is necessary to complete the smocking before you construct this dress.



Supplies

Children’s Corner Mary De pattern Pre-pleated insert using fabric strip 5 1/2” long x 60” wide Buttons (5/8”) – 2 Lightweight fusible interfacing (optional) – 1/4 yard Corded Piping – 1 yard Wonder Tape For this sample, Susan smocked using a variation of the plate provided in the Mary De pattern.
